Lesson Format

Lessons are conducted in a mix of group and one-on-one sessions.

Each group consists of approximately 8 students, with 4 Japanese students and 4 international students, though numbers may vary slightly.

Each 60-minute weekly lesson is divided into two halves: the first half involves lectures and group lessons, while the second half involves one-on-one conversations with international students, guided by instructors and staff.
Can I Understand the Lessons Taught in English?

The lessons use clear and understandable English, with screen-shared materials. If you have an English proficiency level equivalent to CEFR B1 - B2 level, you should be able to understand the lessons.

Learning English in English helps improve your language skills efficiently. If you have any difficulties, supplementary explanations will be provided.
Are There Any Assignments?

You will receive some vocabulary, phrases, and sentences used in the lessons in advance for review (and practice if needed).

Additionally, you will be required to write and submit a journal once a week.

We plan to launch TOMODACHI English at the beginning of October, 2024. However, due to limited availability, we can only accommodate 32 international students initially. To secure a spot, please register for the "Priority Registration for Fall" using the form below.

Upon the official launch of TOMODACHI English, priority information will be given in the order of registration. After reviewing the details, you can choose whether or not to proceed with the application.

The priority registration for fall does not require any specific English proficiency level. However, groups with students having an English proficiency level equivalent to CEFR B1 to B2 are more likely to be formed first.
